    Percy Spicer became a resident of 27 Stade Street, the first home of Spicers of Hythe

  • 1st of February 1926

    The opening day for Spicers of Hythe, this was the first day Percy Spicer opened the doors to his Kent-based store.

    Percy Spicer comes 2nd in the Novice Section of the Harris Challenge Trophy

    Narrowly missing out on the 1st prize of a golden watch

  • September 1930

    Percy Spicer wins the Harris Challenge Trophy

    A competition open to the whole country whereby the skills of bacon cutting & pricing are tested

  • February 2016

    From One Family, To Another

    In early 2016, Tony Cleary added Spicers of Hythe to Lanchester Gifts noting “now is the right time to pass on the baton to the next stage in its’ evolutionary growth”. With Ian Spicer remaining a huge part in taking Spicers of Hythe forward.

  • Summer 2019

    Making The Right Environmental Impact

    The largest Minewater heater of its’ kind within the U.K. finds its’ way into Spicers of Hythe’s Gateshead home. Converting old technology, into new technology, this has proven to be one of the most efficient ways in decarbonising our footprint on planet Earth.

    Customer Service Comes To Gateshead

    Having moved our warehouse space to Gateshead in the North-East of England from our Kent-based origins, this meant our UK based Customer Service team quickly followed suit. So every time you call Spicers of Hythe, you’ll be directed straight to one of our helpful advisors.

    Spicers Goes Electric

    Adding to our commitment to sustainability as a business, we added electric car charging points on site at our new office.

    Making life easier for our work force when it comes to making the choice between electric vehicles.

  • October 2021

    Helping CHUF

    We released a discount code, to give customers 15% off their Christmas gifts & hampers, while also raising funds for the Children’s Heart Unit Fund. A local charity working tirelessly to benefit young people across the United Kingdom with long-term heart issues.

    We raised over £5,000 in total for the charity thanks to our thoughtful & loyal customer base.

    Spicers of Hythe Bringing The Festive Cheer

    As Winter arrived in the North-East of England. Spicers of Hythe’s very own “Dapper Santa” delivered Spicers of Hythe’s finest hampers to local businesses across Sunderland, Gateshead & Newcastle.
